Welcome!
I'm a PhD candidate at ESSEC Business School. During my PhD, I also worked as a Visiting Scholar with Professor P.K. Kannan at the University of Maryland. My research builds and applies tools from causal inference, deep learning, and natural language processing to solve managerial questions around competitive strategy in digital markets and customer relationship management.
My job market paper, titled "Beyond Zero-Sum: The Unexpected Dividend from Competitors Targeting Your Customers—Evidence from Data Sharing in Non-Profits," investigates how competitive advertising spillovers operate in markets shaped by data brokers and introduces a novel deep learning-based matching methodology for causal inference.
Prior to my PhD journey, I began my career as an Electronics Engineer and earned my MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur. I spent several years working across India, Singapore, Africa, and the U.S. markets. My experience ranged from trading derivatives to co-founding a fintech startup (still operating today) to consulting for firms across industries including FMCG, Healthcare, and Technology. During this phase, I’ve driven 2,000+ miles on a bike across Northeast India to raise funds for 5 NGOs as part of a fundraising initiative. I also collaborated with government stakeholders to get grant approval for a sales & marketing project of endangered tribal artisans in Jharkhand, India.
Today, my research is rooted in those lived experiences. Each project I pursue stems from a real-world challenge I've encountered—either in boardrooms or local markets—and seeks to bridge the gap between rigorous research and practical impact.
This site is where I share my research, updates, and the ideas that keep me curious. If you're exploring questions at the intersection of data, markets, and strategy, I'd love to connect.
